The Challenge
Migrating a Windows Terminal Server to AWS
Alterra was struggling with managing their infrastructure and deploying software updates in a consistent and efficient manner. They had a mix of on-premises and cloud-based systems, and were using manual processes to deploy updates and manage configuration.
To address these challenges, we worked with the client to codify their infrastructure and introduce devops tools to automate and streamline their deployment process.
The Solution
To improve the deployment process, we introduced tools like Terraform, Vault, ArgoCD, and GitHub Actions. Vault was used to manage secrets, while Argo was used to automate the deployment of updates. GitHub Actions was used to automate the build, test, and deployment processes, resulting in faster and more reliable software delivery.
The Outcome
The implementation of devops tools and the codification of the client’s infrastructure brought a number of benefits. By automating the deployment process and introducing infrastructure as code, the client was able to reduce their deployment time and improve the consistency and reliability of their systems.
